My cycling journey began back in 1986, when I raced my BMX bike for the first time at just ten years old. Since that moment, I've never gone a year without standing at a starting line, continually challenging myself both physically and mentally. Throughout the years, I've competed in a diverse range of endurance events, including Ultraman Florida, ultra marathons, Ironman races, marathon mountain bike events, gravel bike races, road racing, criteriums, and cyclocross.
Beyond solo competitions, I'm a dedicated tandem pilot and guide for blind athletes with Achilles International, through which I've proudly guided Francesco to multiple podium finishes at the USA Para Cycling National Championships in both the road race and time trial. Francesco and I have also tackled numerous other endurance events, including SBT GRVL, Ironman Arizona, and Ultraman Florida, where we made history in 2023 when Francesco became the first blind athlete to finish.
I've had the opportunity to work with athletes of all backgrounds, from beginners preparing for their first group ride to elite competitors aiming for the top step of the podium, including both able-bodied athletes and those with physical challenges. I believe this unique blend of personal racing experience and diverse coaching has equipped me with a deep understanding of what it takes for every individual to succeed, regardless of the obstacles in the way.
My coaching philosophy emphasizes personalized training plans, mental resilience, and fostering a supportive environment. I am committed to helping each of my athletes find their path to success, push boundaries, and achieve their goals.
Every finish line crossed reaffirms that our limits lie further down the road or over the next mountain, and each finish line prompts the same questions: What's next? Can I do it faster? Can I go longer? What other challenges are out there that excite me? Let's find out together!
