BaseCamp athlete Bruce Beyerly shared his experience at the 2024 Desert Gravel Co2uT race in Fruita, Colorado.
Had a great time (Type 2 fun!) racing the Co2uT gravel last weekend. Marcie Cook and Nathan Trachta (Tina Hart too) tackled various distances on the desert hardpan, from 50 to 100 miles. I'm really pleased with how the winter improved my fitness…followed by Tim‘s gravel plan upping my LT1 and power at VO2max.
Great seeing you and Marcie there. A really fun event! The 50 Miler was a perfect event to test things out, especially since I'd had the flu less than a month later and it interrupted Tim's Gravel Training plan. Btw, we had an epic failure... we failed to get a group picture afterwards! Next time!
